A DASS school’s performance is measured according to the same Dashboard standards as any other non-DASS school, containing the same six State indicators (*) Only 10 percent of schools in California are qualified as a DASS school, and every three years those schools have to reapply to retain this status. Specific metrics for academic achievement and graduation rate reflect the different needs of the students.
A high-risk student population needs extra help to succeed academically. Pacific View Charter School has been successfully offering personalized education for more than twenty years and is exceptionally skilled and experienced to support these students.
Throughout the years, we have learned to identify effective tools to guide students to get back on track. Each student that needs help is the focal point of a multidisciplinary support team, that includes the student’s personal network. Factors that generally impact/affect a student’s motivation are frequently related to a school environment, community, family, and the student self. Therefore the approach we take at PVCS is to look objectively at each student from a multidisciplinary/holistic perspective.
(*) The six State indicators all schools are measured on:
Academic Indicator (ELA and Mathematics)
Chronic Absenteeism Indicator
College/Career Indicator
English Learner Progress Indicator
Graduation Rate Indicator
Suspension Rate Indicator
